Hindusthan Urban Infrastructure Ltd. (HUIL) is an Indian company headquartered in New Delhi, India and is part of the The Hindusthan Group (an industrial conglomerate). Founded in 1959, HUIL manufactures and sells overhead conductors and high-tension electro-porcelain insulators in India and overseas. Earlier known as Hindusthan Vidyut Products Limited, the company changed its name in February 2014 to Hindusthan Urban Infrastructure Limited (HUIL).

HUIL manufactures Bare Conductors for transmission lines, along with HT insulators (such as Solid Core Insulators), Hollow/Bushing Insulators, and cables. It has three manufacturing units for bare conductors located at Gwalior (MP), Faridabad (Haryana) and Guwahati (Assam). Their manufacturing facility for insulators is located at Mandideep (MP).

HUIL is also involved in the generation, transmission, and distribution of electric power.

  • Hindusthan Urban Infrastructure Ltd. was incorporated in 1959 as The Indian Aluminium Cables Ltd. and started with the production of AAC/ACSR Conductors. In 1982 the company merged with Gwalior Cables & Conductors Ltd., a conductor and transformer manufacturing company located in Gwalior (MP). The company was issued a fresh certificate of Incorporation from the Registrar of Companies, NCT in 1998 and changed its name to Hindusthan Vidyut Products Ltd. Thereafter, it took over an insulators manufacturing unit named Insulators & Electricals Company, Mandideep. In 2014, the company renamed itself Hindusthan Urban Infrastructure Limited (HUIL).

  • Imports a 152 mm Extruder from Mallifer Finland and becomes the first Indian company to do so

  • Installs shaftless stranding (20+24+32) machine running at 250 rpm from BAGGAR Denmark
  • Imports CDCC line from Nokia Mallifer with reverse catenary feature
  • 2010 – Executes largest single order of 11 KV, 3C x 400 sq mm of 418 km from BESCOM Bangalore
